What is a West Berlin Pick-Up?
It is a service offered by our company to help those staying in West Berlin reach our East Berlin meeting point. A New Berlin guide will meet you in front of Dunkin’ Donuts opposite Zoologischer Garten Station and will guide you to the tour start point by the Brandenburg Gate. Please find specific pick up information on our daily tour pages.
Are reservations required for the tours?
Reservations for the free and select tours are not necessary, unless your group exceeds 10 people. For private tours, however, reservations are a must.
Are the tours wheel chair accessible?
All the tours contain a few inclines and uneven terrain, and they last for approximately 3.5 hours. Despite this, they are all manageable (with the exception of the bike tour) by wheelchair as long as one is accompanied by an able-bodied carrier.
What time do I need to show up for my tour?
It’s not necessary to arrive for a tour BEFORE the start time, with the exception of the bike tour. If you would like to have one of our bikes, it is advisable to get there early.
How long are the tours?
All the tours are about 3.5 hours long. With travel time, however, the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial Tour is about 6 hours long.
What languages are the SANDEMANs NEW Berlin walking tours offered in?
The free walking tour is offered in English, and Spanish year-round. The Sachsenhausen Tour, Red Berlin and The Third Reich Tour are both offered in Spanish as well. Every tour is available in English. If you would like to charter a private tour in another language please contact us using our e-mail form.
Do the Spanish tours only run during the summer months?
No, the Spanish tours run year-round just like the other tours.
Is it possible to do two of your tours in one day?
Absolutely! the pubcrawl could be combined with any other tour. Please see specific tour times for more information about combining tours.
On which days does the pub crawl take place?
The pub crawl is now being offered 7 days a week in all weather and on all public holidays.
What Month do the Tours Start?
The tours run year round rain or shine and all all public holidays. The free bike tour, however, begins in April and ends in mid October.
Will it be hard or unsafe to get home from the pub crawl?
The Pub Crawl guides are more than happy to offer you directions on how to get to the nearest train station. If you are at all concerned about getting home, you are welcome to one of the print-outs, and the guides are always more than willing to give you directions.
Does one need to reserve a spot on the pub crawl?

What is difference between the City Tour Card and the Berlin Welcome Card?
The Berlin Welcome Card is 16€ for 48 hours and 22€ for 72 hours. This card includes public transportation zones ABC, and it allows you to receive discounts at over 120 cultural and tourist highlights in Berlin. Up to three children under the age of 14 are also allowed to travel on one card.
The City Tour Card Berlin is 14.90€ for 48 hours and 19.90€ for 72 hours. This ticket includes public transportation zones AB, and it allows you to receive discounts at affiliated restaurants, theaters, museums, tours and clubs. Children, however, must have their own card.
Does the pub crawl meet at the same spot every night?
Yes, the meeting spot is always the same. Check out the Pub Crawl page for the most up-to-date info regarding times and location.
Do the FREE Tours include the entrance fees to the places of interest?
The free walking tour does not include entrance costs to any places which charge entry.
Is there a maximum number of people allowed on a tour?
No, there is no maximum number of people for tours. There are always multiple guides to ensure that everyone can be accommodated. If you are planning on joining the tour with a group larger than ten people, reservations are required so that we can be sure to have an appropriate number of guides at the tour starting point on the given day.
